It's time for another update: Jonah is still the sweet, loving handsome dog that we met a little more than a month ago...maybe a bit more loving and sweet!

Because Jonah gets attached so quickly and deeply, he needs a forever home that is not only willing to give him the love and attention, but also the structure and training to teach him that his family will always come back for him when they leave the house. With a little reassurance and guidance, he really will return your love 1000 fold! I promise! Anyway, here are some pictures that we captured in the past couple of weeks.

JONAH!!!!

No picture for this, because I was too busy being shocked to grab the camera.

I was lounging on the couch watching TV and my other greyhound was sleeping on the other half of the couch. Jonah was on the dog bed at first, then he got up, stood right next to me and put his entire head and neck on my stomach. After a few scratches, he eyed the couch and survey the situation and put a leg on my stomach, obviously planning on jumping on top of me. Of course I stopped him. He did that a few times and I stopped him every single time.

Finally he walked away and around the couch. I thought he gave up and went back to the dog bed. All of a sudden, two greyhound feet appeared on the BACK OF THE COUCH, then Jonah's head popped up. I barely had time to realize that he was about to lunge himself up on the couch from the back when he sprang! I yelled NOOOOO and of course freaked both of us out. I had no idea that he's that persistant when it comes to getting snuggles...the boy knows what he wants, and he's not afraid to get it!

How we spend our evenings...
Jonah is very good at making himself comfortable :)

Haven't blogged for a few days...mainly because I've been trying to find ways to describe Jonah other than "just perfect." He's so sweet he really touches your heart. He bonds quickly and deeply. He absolutely LOVES to be close to you. For example, when I sit on our long couch, instead of sitting on the other end of the couch like my own dogs would do *roll eyes*, he would jump right up against me and cuddle right next to me, with his feet and head on my lap. When he leans his head against you and snuggles into your lap, you can't help but just melt and love him.

Anyway, here's what he's doing while I'm blogging on the living room floor...

Space issue??

Judge for yourself!

Brindles unite!

And he's not that picky with his pillows either...

Random pictures from today...

I may be biased, but I absolutely love his beautiful markings!

Another angle of this handsome boy.

Sniffing the yard, part of his after-work routine: run a few laps in the yard, get some lovin', pee, sniff around a bit, get some more lovin', prance around, enjoy the fresh air, poop, pee over his foster brothers' pee spots, ask for some more lovin', a bit moooore lovin', prance around, just a little more lovin', okay, time to go in...no? then a bit more prancing...

After dinner nap...

Today we left Jonah at home in an X-pen for about 8 hours while we're at work. He did great! Even though he was contained, I have a feeling he could be trusted with free rein of the house. He is such a well behaved boy! He is not a complete velcro dog that follows us around out of insecurity. You can tell that when he comes to us for kisses and snuggles, he does it because he loves people and loves physical contact. When we're watching TV, his favorite place, other than on the couch with us, is on the dog bed next to us. Like this:

Ask to meet Jonah! You won't regret it! :)

Anybody want the perfect greyhound?

HERE HE IS!

Disclaimer: he's obviously been allowed on the furniture before, because he hopped up and snuggled in before I could react! I did tell him to get off right after snapping a few pictures :)

Here's an example: he's not shy about cuddling with you on the couch, but he also responds really well to corrections and commands, such as OFF!, so whatever kind of greyhound you want, he's it!

When we picked Jonah up at the kennel, he seemed a little unsure, but he absolutely blossomed once he's in a home environment. He's happy and outgoing but not obnoxiously so. He loves to be with people and enjoys the company of other dogs, but he has plenty of fun runninng around on his own as well. He has just enough energy to make it fun, but not enough to tire you out completely.

Today we spent a few hours in the afternoon out in the yard. Jonah spent most of his time prancing about, just enjoying the weather and the freedom. And he literally pranced! It's really the cutest thing to see. He also got a couple laps of good runs in. Once in awhile he'd come up to us to get some loving and see what we're up to. He's just an all around wonderful boy!!

"Jonah" goes to his foster home!

We got home about about half an hour ago, everything went very well. The boys got acquainted in the backyard, and after a few minutes of initial curiosity, they settled down very quickly. My boys are used to having new dogs in the house, and Jonah is obviously quite well adjusted as well. When we first let Jonah out by himself, he was so happy! He immediately started running around with a big smile on his face :)
Right now everybody has settled in their respective spots around the house. Jonah is definitely not shy about taking the dog bed :)
